Science, MSC, NPQH, (Previously NLE)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; background: white; vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #020202;\">Shameem Hussain is currently Head teacher of Beech Hill School and founder of \u2018The Family of Learning Trust\u2019. Shameem became head teacher in 2014 following several years as the deputy head teacher. She has supported a range of schools and their leaders with School Improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #020202;\">In 2016 Beech Hill School achieved Ofsted \u2018Outstanding \u2018and in 2017 Shameem led the academy through to gaining Multi Academy Trust status as \u2018the Family of Learning Trust\u2019. The trust sponsored Dean Field School in January 2018 and Shameem led the school through its conversion to joining the trust. This gave her, as CEO the opportunity to strategically lead the development across the MAT and Dean Field\u2019s improvement. As CEO, her role is to strategically develop the trust, ensuring systems are in place for the trust to expand and realise the trust\u2019s vision on ensuring that all children have the best possible start in their life. She is currently undertaking Ofsted Inspector training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Joanne Lawless<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>The Family of Learning Trust &#8211; HR Director<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>PG (Dip) Human Resources Management<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Joanne joined Beech Hill Academy in October 2013 having previously been contracted to supply HR services to the school when she worked at Educate HR Ltd. During her time at Education HR Ltd Joanne was responsible for delivering bespoke HR administration and consultancy services to academies and schools across West Yorkshire. Previously Joanne spent ten years working for Calderdale Council\u2019s Children and young Peoples Services\u2019, with management responsibility for the provision of competitive and responsive HR and payroll services to schools across the Calderdale region.<\/p>\n<p>Over 20 years of working in education HR Joanne\u00a0has gained extensive experience of the management of change, culture transformation, strategic and operational HR management and the development.\u00a0 She is a respected member of the management team at the Family of Learning Trust and has been integral to its development, specifically delivering many key initiatives, including changing the payroll from an external provider to in-house management, resulting in a financial savings for the school, as well as streamlining HR processes through the use of technology. Joanne is passionate about mental health and employee wellbeing implementing staff wellbeing initiatives and introduced an employee assistance programme as well as comprehensive cost efficient occupational health service.\u00a0 Joanne works with finance colleagues to support health and safety and facilities, improving compliance management processes and IT systems.<\/p>\n<p>Joanne is highly qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and continually keeps updated on latest employment law, practice and policies through CPD and being a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Joanne is also well versed on employment law; school teachers\u2019 pay and conditions and local government pay and terms of employment. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of employee relations, providing up to date advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of employee management issues and engagement in the education sector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greg Armitage<br \/>\nChief Financial Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Greg is a qualified accountant (ACCA) with 20 years\u2019 experience. He started at a local manufacturing company as a fitter before working his way up to a British Standard welder then through Huddersfield University qualified as an accountant. In 2019 he aided in the due diligence and sale of the manufacturing company to a large multinational and spent the next year introducing new systems and hitting targets for the final transfer of ownership.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020 Greg joined the Family of Learning Trust to expand his knowledge and face a new challenge. His aim was to bring in monthly reporting for governors and trustees plus to oversee a review of all finance systems. He has already introduced a central budgeting system to track budgets and spend across the trust. In 2021 he rolled out a new financial system to help with the centralisation of procedures and allow the ability to access information from various school.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024 he received a CIPFA Diploma in Financial and Operational Leadership, as well as \u00a0overseeing the linking and modernisation of systems to enable the trust to smoothly integrate new schools as they join.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025 he took over the role of CFO and is aiming to have a solid structure in place that will benefit an expanding trust.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nRichard Hodgson<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>IT Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Richard has vast knowledge and experience of IT and a real interest and passion in this area.<\/p>\n<p>He is responsible for managing the IT infrastructure and network across the Trust. He is responsible for planning IT developments across the Trust and setting up and maintaining the network, monitoring and filtering systems and equipment and works with our providers to maintain cyber security of the systems and software being used within the Trust. In addition, Richard creates and maintains the school websites ensuring they are up to date and providing key information about the school. Richard has worked very closely with the Finance, HR and Payroll, Admin teams to implement the new systems to support the Trust as it grows.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Boocock ICIOB<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Estates and Compliance Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>(Dip) Construction Site Management &amp; Civil Engineering<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Incorporate Member of the Charted Institute of Building<br \/>\n<\/em><em>IOSH \u2013 Managing Safety<br \/>\n<\/em><em>NEBOSH \u2013 General Certificate<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Robert Joins the trust as an experienced Construction and Facilities Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Having studied at Leeds College of Building and gaining The National Diploma in Construction Site Management and Civil Engineering, Robert worked in the construction Industry for over 12 years on New build social housing and NHS Primary Medical Care centres nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Having spent a number of years project managing the expansion of a Multi Academy Trust and being the Premises Manager for a New Sixth Form Academy, Robert joined the trust in May 2025. He is the Trusts Management lead for Strategic Compliance in all areas relating to Facilities, Estates and Health &amp; Safety Management.<\/p>\n<p>Providing advice and support to Stake Holders, Managers, supervisors and colleagues, continually improving the support to the MAT for LEA Compliance, Service maintenance (Pro and Reactive)and Health and Safety.<\/p>\n<p>Robert is currently studying NEBOSH \u201cDiploma for Occupational Health &amp; Safety Management Professionals\u201d and hopes to complete this in early 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He continually keeps updated on latest Health &amp; Safety regulations, practice and policies through CPD and being an Incorporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building is well versed in Building and construction regulations encompassing a range of laws, codes, and standards that govern construction practices, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance within the trust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shameem Hussain Trust Chief Executive Officer B.Ed.
